Colour Strategy & Trend Direction

Multiple digital mood boards and interior design ideas featuring cozy bedroom scenes, kitchen settings, and various home decor items, with focus on soft natural light and warm color palettes.

Colour is one of the most powerful commercial tools a home brand has. I bring both an instinctive eye and a structured approach — building palettes that feel current and coherent, and that actually work across an entire range, not just on a slide.

Each season I research through Maison et Objet, Heimtextil, Decorex, Première Vision, and translate what I find into something commercially relevant for your specific brand and customer — not generic trend forecasting.

  • Seasonal trend research and direction decks

  • Colour palette development using Pantone and physical swatch management

  • Range-wide colour planning across product categories

  • Customer research and design alignment

  • Competitor analysis and market positioning

Surface Pattern & Print Design

Various patterned wallpapers with floral designs in different colors and styles, displayed on sheets of paper laid out on a surface.
A bed with a striped blue and white headboard and cream-colored bedding with small blue floral patterns. Next to the bed is a wooden side table holding a tall blue and white ceramic vase, several books, a glass of water, and a small plate. Behind the bed, there is a red paneled wall with a blue patterned lampshade hanging on the wall and a decorative plate mounted on the wall.

The core of what I do. I originate surface pattern from scratch — hand-painted artwork, hand-drawn marks, digital composition — and develop it into production-ready repeat files for any print process: rotary, flatbed or digital.

Every stage is handled. Repeat engineering, colour separations, colourway development, strike-off review, final approval artwork. I work closely with factories and print suppliers, which means the quality of the design holds all the way through production.

  • Original hand-painted and digital surface pattern artwork

  • All-over repeats, placement prints and border designs

  • Colour separations for screen and digital print

  • Colourway development — initial palette through to final approvals

  • Embroidery design and stitch specs

  • Constructed textile design (weave, dobby, jacquard)

  • Strike-off review and factory liaison

Product Development & Consulting

Concept to factory. I manage the full product development journey — designing to target price points, building detailed technical packs, and working with factories across India, Portugal, Turkey and the Far East to get it right.

I've led development on factory trips, problem-solved construction and print issues at source, and worked alongside sustainability consultants to develop OEKO-TEX and GOTS-certified product. Knowing the process in detail means fewer sampling iterations and stronger first-hit results.

  • Detailed technical design packs for sampling and production

  • Factory and supplier liaison

  • Costing and margin review

  • Fabric and raw material development

  • Sustainability-led fabrication (OEKO-TEX, GOTS, recycled)

  • Packaging design and brand systems

  • Licensing and collaboration management

Consulting & Advisory

Sometimes a brand needs a fresh pair of experienced eyes on a specific problem — a new category that isn't landing, a range that feels directionless, a colour palette that needs a reset. I offer short-form consulting for exactly that.

Engagements vary. It might be a half-day or a few weeks of structured input. The scope is up to you; the thinking is senior-level.
